The challenge

NSPCC’s Walk for Children began during lockdown as a virtual fundraising event, inviting people to complete a 5k walk with loved ones to support Childline. Now NSPCC approached us with an exciting evolution of the event: the introduction of an in-person walk in Leeds alongside the original virtual challenge. Our mission? To inspire as many people as possible to sign up – whether they were stepping out in Leeds or walking closer to home.

Our solution

We tailored our strategy to two key audiences: those near Leeds who could attend the in-person event and those walking their own 5k route elsewhere.

Across all activity, simplicity was our anchor. At its heart, Walk for Children is about spending quality time outdoors with family, friends, and even furry companions while raising vital funds for Childline. This inspired our proposition: an easy, enjoyable way to make a big difference together.

Our creative approach celebrated inclusivity, ensuring the campaign felt welcoming for all. We spotlighted real participants from previous years, leaning on authentic selfies and video clips rather than polished stock imagery. The result? A campaign that felt relatable, vibrant, and engaging.

We paired this authenticity with a bold visual identity and punchy, emoji-laden copy that brought the event to life. The digital ads – featuring both static visuals and animations – ran across Facebook and Instagram, with location-based targeting for the Leeds area.

Outcome

A highly engaging suite of creatives to really capture people’s imagination and put their best foot forward for NSPCC!
